Membership drive: Canadian Golf and Country Club

The membership rates at the Canadian Golf and Country Club are all set for 2013.

“When golfers get in touch with us about memberships, they discover that they will receive great value by being able to golf and socialize at one of the most complete golf facilities in the region,” said Lee Tamburano, director of golf and the corporate pro shop.

The Canadian Golf and Country Club features two courses - the 18-hole West Course and the full-length nine-hole East Course. The West Course is a par 72 measuring 6,430 yards from the back tees. The East Course plays to par 35 and is 3,135 yards from the tips. Four sets of tees accommodate the skill levels of all golfers.

“We have a terrific membership atmosphere,” said Tamburano. “By being a 27-hole facility there is easy access to booking rounds and special occasions add to the positive experience. Last year, members attended events where they received expert advice on wine tasting and pairing, got to swing clubs during a free clinic sponsored by the Ottawa Senators, satisfied seafood cravings during a lobster night and the ladies organized an elegant garden party.”

A full service clubhouse offers casual dining and a huge patio is a wonderful place to gather after a game for beverages and meals. The patio provides fabulous views of the full practice facility. A formal dining room is situated on the second floor of the clubhouse. The staff is experienced in helping plan special occasions and follows through by making sure they happen smoothly.

The Canadian Golf and Country Club features four PGA of Canada professionals on staff, a performance fitting centre, a golf academy, a completely stocked pro shop and offers one-stop club fitting shopping with the best price guaranteed on equipment at all times.

“We also began an online pro shop in December,” Tamburano said. “Golfers now have the convenience of ordering equipment and accessories online and we’ll be rolling out the newest merchandise early in February after the PGA Show in Orlando.”

When players shop online, they’ll be supporting the dreams of young golfers.

“A percentage of the proceeds from every purchase goes to help introduce kids to golf through the Callaway Golf in Schools program, and to provide junior golfers with the opportunity to improve and compete,” he said.

Tamburano took service at the Canadian to a higher level a year ago when he launched his blog.

“I provide readers with tips, insight, opinions, information and the latest news about the golf industry at www.ottawagolfguru.com.”
