Debuting Wednesday, July 16 at 9:00 pm EST in a special two-hour premiere, the new television series, "The Divide,"will be featured on WE TV. Featured throughout the series, is the original score created by Dhani Harrison, Paul Hicks, and Jonathan Sadoff of the critically acclaimed, TheNewNo2. The announcement was made today, June 30, via Fresh and Clean Media in Los Angeles, California. This series is the first original scripted series for the network.
This is the second film that the members of TheNewNo2 have teamed up to produce a collaborative scored effort for a film; their first was "Beautiful Creatures," of which they received critical acclaim also. Of their recent effort, Dhani Harrison stated "The Divide score has been a real pleasure to work on. Right from the beginning Tony (Goldwyn) wanted it to be dark. Music to our ears as the instrumentation that he liked really lent itself to our style of music. We only saw the show one episode at a time so each week we built on where we thought it would go. As the show went on we got more and more opportunities to perfect this sound until it all really came together for the final four episodes; it's anxiety provoking, dark electro with a heartbeat."TheNewNo2 features the Grammy-Award winning Dhani Harrison, three-time Grammy-Award winner, Paul Hicks, and Jonathan Sadoff who has scored films such as "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World," among numerous others. The trio releases their work through their self-produced record label, H.O.T. Records LTD., and enjoy producing their musical work free from the mainstream music industry.
"The Divide" is an eight-episode series written by Academy and Emmy-Award nominated, Richard LaGravanese, known for his work on "Water for Elephants," "The Bridges of Madison County" and "The Ref," to name a few. Tony Goldwyn of "Scandal," "Conviction," "Dexter," "A Walk on the Moon," among many others directs the premier episode, and co-created by both LaGravenese and Goldwyn. The series is produced by AMC Studios. "The Divide" is a drama about the personal cost of morality and ambition in today's justice system, with acting by Marin Ireland and Damon Gupton. John Tinker of "Chicago Hope" and "The Practice" is the show runner, with with co-executive producer, Andrew Sugarman of "Shopgirl" and "Conviction."
