Have you been feeling sick, been diagnosed with an illness, or depressed? Chances are there is not enough fiber in your diet. Fiber is a really good key component when it comes to losing weight and being healthy. In fact there are people who claim that they didn't have to go hungry and still lost the desired weight, which in turn healed them from a lot of their ailments. The key to weight loss they say, is to replace the fat in our diets, and those things that produce fat in our bodies with fiber.
Fiber not only helps us lose weight by making us feel fuller, but it also has the power of healing our bodies from many ailments. Fiber naturally helps rid our bodies of toxins. Toxins can build up when our bodies start to slow down from eating too much high fat, starchy and sugary foods. And as the toxins remain, our bodies become sluggish and even our metabolism slows down, causing us to gain more weight, depression and sickness.
The avoidable foods, like the hidden fats, are found in anything thats creamy ,an exception is yogurt, sugar free or fat free items. Hidden fat is also found in starchy foods, anything made of white flour, such as bread or pasta, or food items loaded with sugar. Some items cannot be avoided like cooking oil or ketchup, so you should use them sparingly, or eat less of it! The foods under this category are hard to digest, are loaded with calories and cause a host of health problems. Sugar and starch when not used right away turns into fat and is stored in our bodies. Problems begin to arise as the toxins build. For instance when the fat builds up in our blood streams, kidneys and liver, it begins to collect in the arteries which causes heart disease and diabetes. Toxins that build up in any part of the body can cause cancer. And a lack of fiber can cause constipation and a buildup in the colon which can cause cancer of the colon. So it is recommended to start a fiber diet as soon as possible to prevent these kind of diseases especially if you are over 40.
The foods high in fiber are fruits, vegetables and whole grains. More fiber comes from the skin of these fruits and vegetables so it is recommended to leave the skin on, and eating them raw will reap the best benefits. Replacing white bread with whole grain bread, white rice with brown rice, and eating whole grain cereal is a very good start. Planning each meal of the the day with some of these items, while cutting out the hidden fats will go along way in reducing calories and pounds, helping you to feel fuller while giving you more energy to burn off those calories. Try fixing large salad dishes for a meal with a fruit desert or a large plate of whole grain rice or pasta mixed with meat and vegetables. You would be surprised when you see how many recipes there are out there that contain large amounts of fiber.
An orange or apple, would be a great substitute for a cupcake or piece of pie. You might not think so now, but once you start eating healthier, your body will grow accustomed to these types of foods. Cut these up and place them in single serving bowls in your refrigerator for a quick, alternative snack. Take some vanilla yogurt and add cut up strawberries or blueberries. Yogurt is a good choice because it contains good bacteria that helps to cleanse your digestive track. Use Yogurt to substitute many of the creamy foods that you used to desire. You can even buy it frozen and tastes just like ice cream!
The vitamins in many fruits help to fight cancer and disease. They actually help to boost the immune system. The fiber in fruit will also help you to feel fuller with more energy, while it naturally cleans the toxins out of your system.
