Melovine performing at Scout Bar Houston
Was it just me or did Melovine's singer Matt Neice remind you of Clark Kent at the beginning of their show? Pretty sure it was the glasses...or so I thought at first.
Melovine opened the Sevendust show to a packed house at Scout Bar Houston. Literally, the place was packed. PACKED. But the crowd was focused on the "alternative metal quartet" rocking onstage.
Hailing from Galveston Island, the award-winning band has garnered a loyal fan base from Houston and throughout the rest of Texas with their “distinct combination of melody, powerful vocals, passionate lyrics and memorable hooks". Quite simply put, this original band has an "authentic" solid sound.
"Definitely a notch above the rest!!" - Ekho Productions - Houston, TX
Poof! Neice's glasses were gone. Melovine continued its hard hitting and unrelenting wonderful assault on our senses. Jonathan Jourdan (guitar), Channing Sall (bass) and Dexas Villarreal (drums) offered up their talent alongside Neice and it was apparent how comfortable Melovine was onstage.
Melovine has received a “Best In Houston” award from local radio station The Buzz and was named an “Official Judge’s Favorite” for Punisher War Zone’s soundtrack by the executive management of Lionsgate Entertainment and Shaun Morgan of Seether.
And now fans are highly anticipating the release of a full length cd that is tentatively scheduled to debut this spring or summer. We will keep you posted. Any questions regarding booking can be directed to Brandon Shaver at Ekho Productions.

# 1 fan of my favorite band
Although I have to agree that melovine ROCKS I can't agree with the statement about scoutbar being packed because of them... Sevendust has a really strong and loyal fanbase in Houston! That Saturday was the first time I heard melovine and I do have to say I loved them.... But sevendust still has my heart!!!!
Iam happy for you DAVE& MATT. MATT LOOKS JUST LIKE YOU BROTHER.
Thank you for your comments! Vanessa, I would have to say that at 8:30pm that night at Scout Bar, the place was packed for Melovine for sure! I love Sevendust as well and of course they rocked the house!
Sorry I don't know why my comment submitted twice but anyway of course we all have our opinions but I think ppl wanted to get close to the stage to see sevendust! Everyone went wild the second morgan rose was visible behind the drums!! And at 830 the house still wasn't as packed as it was by the time sevendust performed! I think that second band completely SUCKED! They shouldve gone first and melovine second.... If it was melovine, digital summer, and sevendust.... I think that wouldve been a better line up... Anyway let me stop babbling! Any word on an album for melovine? I can't wait! They rock!
I just emailed Melovine's management for a little more information on their cd release date, so I will pass that along. I should have photos and a review of Sevendust up soon...as well as the other bands. So glad to see your comments. I liked your idea of the lineup! :)
thanks a lot!!! this article is awesome! and Vanessa's right, who the hell are we? lol. it was a privilege to share the stage with those guys! go check out our new track we just posted on myspace.com/melovine. new album should be out soon! thanks again:_dex
It was definitely a relief to see a real band once Sevendust took the stage, as compared to the struggling local artists that almost depleted the entry value for such a stale, cramped, venue (if even a venue). Very unimpressed. The crowd was surely just waiting for the real cowboys to take it away. In contrast, the genre is way too saturated with coat-tail garage bands trying to mirror, this was a very good display of that. - Jonas RR A&R
