Hot on the heels of the news that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises, Looper) would be joining Robert Rodriguez's Sin City sequel, Newsarama reported today that popular thesps Josh Brolin and Christopher Meloni are now attached.
Brolin (W., No Country For Old Men), the square-jawed actor that got his start in The Goonies, will be taking over the role of Dwight -- the hopeless romantic with a criminal background -- played by Clive Owen in the first film. The reason for the actor shift isn't because of Owen's dropping out, but because the character undergoes major reconstructive surgery that makes him unrecognizable between the two movies.
Meloni (Oz, Law and Order: SVU) will be playing a police officer, but any details on the role are scarce at the moment.
The first Sin City film was based on a story called "The Big Fat Kill", while the sequel follows Miller's "A Dame to Kill For".
