Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers announces the opening of their San Antonio, Texas, location at 115 North Loop 1604 East, 78232, in the Stone Oak area on January 14, 2013. Austinintes can check out this pizza place on their next visit to the Alamo City.
The owners of this location, Ali and Setareh Danesh, are enthusiastic about bringing Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers to the area: “After living in middle Tennessee for years, we were familiar with the incredible and unique brand. Wanting to find the right fit, the beautiful city of San Antonio felt perfect. The city is full of so much unique art, history and incredible people,” states Ali.
The menu features a variety of pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones and appetizers. Options for vegetarians, vegans, kids and those on a gluten-free plan are also available. To complement the dining experience, there is a full service bar with a great variety of craft beers, wine and cocktail options.
Mellow Mushroom, founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1974, focuses on local ownership and operation, believing that to be the best way to serve the customer, the local community and convey the culture of the brand at the same time. Continuing in the tradition of creativity and the importance of the local art community, San Antonio artist Robert Tatum has spent weeks covering the walls inside and out with his recognizable style and humor. Robert developed a space cowboy theme that happens under the watching eye of the full moon. Also featured is quite possibly the coolest take on the Texas Lone Star, designed by Carl Janes and fabricated by Shawn Oldham and Sean Pace. The “Soul Star” is made from bullets, barbed wire, horse shoes, spurs, the soles of cowboy boots and a gigantic diamond.
Mellow Mushroom is open 7 days a week Monday – Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday –Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight., and Sunday 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. For more information, visit www.mellowmushroom.com/sanantonio
