Melissa McCarthy took a stage tumble during her stint on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, according to an April 7 E! News report.
Rocking some sky-high, red platform heels, the “Identity Thief” actress fell on her face as she prepared for her dance number with Taran Killam. Taking the fall in stride, McCarthy noted that she should have “tried these shoes on,” before attempting to walk in them during the live show.
According to the Daily Mail, the actress picked something off the floor after her fall – the smell of musicians. “This smells like a lot of musicians,” she quipped.
Of her clumsiness, McCarthy reminded everyone that she is not a platform kinda gal. “I’m primarily in a Croc, which is a… just a little different pitch from what I’m doing right now, but I just really wanted to get all gussied up for you guys and, like, put on a big show.”
And when it came to putting on a show, McCarthy was the ultimate pro. She parodied everyone from Shakira on “The Voice,” to basketball coach Sheila Kelly and Food Network challenge contestant, Jean Carrera, among others.
