The Melia Las Americas Golf Cup tournament at the Varadero Golf Club in Cuba is only a pitch shot away from getting under way.

“Men and women golfers from around the world are welcome to register for our 20th anniversary event from May 7-10,” said Reynaldo Leon Diaz, sales manager for Melia Las Americas. “In the past, our tournaments have attracted players from Canada, Argentina, Chile, Dominican Republic, France, Nigeria, Germany, Spain, Italy and Cuba.”

The tournament fee is 150 convertible-Cuban-pesos per person. It includes a welcome gift pack, all green fees for before, during and after the tournament, golf cart rental for all rounds, participation in the longest drive contest, snacks during the two days of official tournament play and the awards dinner that features tons of prizes.

The tournament is for amateur golfers with an official certified handicap of up to 26 for the men and 36 for the women. The format is stroke play for the two mandatory competition rounds and one optional practice round.
