Mel Waiters headlines a great night of live legendary blues at Chaifetz Arena

Popular “Hole in the Wall” blues man Mel Waiters headlines a great line-up of blues, which features some of the top names in the business. Tk Soul, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Denise Lasalle, St. Louis queen Shirley Brown, Charlie Wilson and Bobby Womack will be bringing it out to a city that is famous for the blues.

The 8th Annual St. Louis Blues Festival titled ‘The Blues Is Alright, It’s Grown Folks Fun! This event slated for Feb. 23rd at the Chaifetz Arena, is sure to be a crowd pleaser with the young and old alike. Since blues music has transcended into a wide arrange of musical genres, including hip hop and R&B.

A little about Mel Waiters:

R&B singer Mel Waiters was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, where in 1974 he began his performing career at local teen clubs; after a stint as a radio deejay, he was awarded a government contract to entertain at military bases across the southwest.

Debuting with 1997's Suki-Suki Man, he quickly followed with the LP I'm Serious, notching a hit with the single "Hit It and Quit It." Upon signing with Malaco/Waldoxy, Waiters returned with Woman in Need in 1998; Material Things followed a year later, and in mid-2000's the singer resurfaced with I Want the Best.

He is a popular artist to the St. Louis area and his music is heard constantly at local nightclubs.
