Mel Gibson’s plea deal brings Oksana's grandstanding to a screeching halt

Mel Gibson has made a plea deal which has effectively shut down Oksana Grigorieva’s months of grandstanding, and succeeded in bringing the media circus by Oksana and her lawyers to a screeching halt.

According toTMZ , Mel Gibson will personally appear in court Friday to plead no contest to simple battery, a misdemeanor, which in Mel’s case will involve counseling, but no jail time.

RadarOnline reported that the plea deal surprised and angered Oksana and her attorneys. Apparently Oksana and her team thought they’d have several weeks, or at least a few more days to continue planting misleading stories, and assisting Oksana in the final stages of her smear campaign against Mel Gibson.

Statement from Mel Gibson’s Attorney on His Behalf

Blair Berk, Mel Gibson’s attorney, made the following statement on Mel’s behalf.

"I know from almost 20 years as a criminal defense lawyer that sometimes justice can come for a client at too high a personal price.

“That is particularly so for Mel, whose right to due process can only be exercised in this case with an enormous media circus attached."

"Mel's priority throughout all of this has been that the best interests of his young daughter Lucia and the rest of his children be put first in any decisions made.

It is with only that in mind that he asked me to approach the District Attorney with a proposal that would bring all of this to an immediate end."

No Mention of Any Charges against Oksana Grigorieva, Thus Far

Media reports earlier this week, hinted that Mel Gibson would be charged with a crime, while Oksana Grigorieva would get off scot-free, despite the fact that she attempted to extort millions of dollars from Mel.

It’s interesting to note that thus far, there has been no mention of Oksana being charged with anything at all, despite the fact that she has repeatedly lied, violated the gag order put in place by the court, made false accusations against Mel Gibson, ignored the judge’s warning about conducting media interviews, leaked and/or sold information about the case to the media, told numerous lies and conflicting stories, illegally taped phone conversations, falsified evidence, conducted a smear campaign against Mel Gibson, twisted the truth to suit her purposes, reneged on a signed legal agreement, used child support money to pay her personal bills, and more – with no consequences whatsoever.

In fact, throughout this whole Mel Gibson – Oksana Grigorieva legal battle, Oksana has been given preferential treatment by California law enforcement agencies, and the California courts.

Mel Gibson’s plea deal may be the only way he can put an end to Oksana Grigorieva’s madness. He certainly hasn’t gotten much help from the courts.

Is Oksana Getting Off Scot-free?

Regarding the Mel Gibson – Oksana Grigorieva legal battle, a lot of controversial and highly questionable shenanigans have taken place behind the scenes in Oksana’s behalf, and it hasn’t yet occurred to the public, or the taxpayers of California to ask ‘WHY?”

There’s a laundry list of things with which Oksana Grigorieva could be charged, including

illegally taping someone’s phone conversation without their knowledge or consent (a Federal offense)

extortion

perjury

contempt of court

selling evidence to the media that has been sealed by the court

making false statements to law enforcement officials

falsifying evidence

slander/Defamation of character

And that’s just for starters – there’s a whole lot more.

Oksana Grigorieva, a woman who isn’t even a citizen of the United States, has been allowed to run roughshod over the U.S. Justice system, without so much as a slap on the wrist – all at the taxpayer’s expense.

Oksana should have been fined, jailed, or deported - probably all three –long ago.

How many of the above offenses would the average American citizen have been allowed to get away with?

The public has been largely duped by Oksana Grigorieva and her “spin doctors.”

Unfortunately, most media outlets have picked up, re-written, Oksana’s strategically planted stories and repeated them over and over again. In most cases that’s the only side of the story that the public knows.
