The 54-year-old actor was scheduled to start filming in cameo as a tattoo artist in the next two weeks, but director Todd Phillips made the announcement that Gibson will no long be in the film.
Phillips told The Wrap:
"I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of [WB president] Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew."
Reportedly the star who might have been with the actor is Zach Galifianakis who made some public complaints earlier this month about the actor being cast in the movie.
The actor admitted that he was:
"in a deep protest right now with a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something. But I can't get the guys to [listen]. I'm not making any leeway...It's very frustrating."
Do you plan on seeing “The Hangover 2”? I thought the first one was funny, but it wasn’t that funny.
