Mel Gibson's Old Mill Farm - asking $27,750,000
Mel Gibson is dumping his mansion before he gets dumped by his current wife. Mel Gibson has marked down the price of the Connecticut mansion to $29,750,000, down from $39 million back in the summer of 2007.
Mel Gibson and his new girlfried are adding another little Gibson to his brood of eight, so he has a lot on his mind and needs to pad his wallet.
The Old Mill Farm was designed by architect Charles Lewis Bowman and was built in 1926 for his horse lover client, G.L. Ohrstrom. This is a great manor home in Greenwich and includes 77 acres of land.
The Elizabethan Tudor mansion of the Mel Gibson family has 15,800 square feet, 15 bedrooms and 18 bathrooms. The eye-popping room is the great hall with it's 40 foot cathedral ceiling, stone minstrel's gallery, walk in fireplace and leaded glass ceilings.
The grounds were designed by landscape designer James Doyle, include formal gardens and a maze. There is also a terrace pool, tennis court, greenhouse, stable, staff houses, log cabin and a pond on the property.
Mel Gibson may be a little concerned about moving the house, but property will sell in the area. One person who seems to have sold in the area is Regis Philbin. His Greenwich home listing has disappeared.
