Mel Brooks honored with Walk of Fame star

It took a while, but legendary comedian, writer, and director Mel Brooks has been honored by receiving his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony, held on April 24th, was attended by Brooks' son Max and longtime friend and comedic partner Carl Reiner.Brooks' is the 2,406th star on the walk of fame.

At the age of 83, Brooks has won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammy, and a Tony for his variety of works. He is currently working on a musical version of his famed film Blazing Saddles in London.

He is known for his film work, such as Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety, History of the World: Part I, Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and The Producers. Brooks has also acted, written, produced and directed television series such as "Get Smart", "The Electric Company", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", and "Spaceballs: The Animated Series."
