Gossip Cop confirmed Feb. 20 that Melanie Brown, formerly known as Mel B of the Spice Girls, would be taking over the judge seat vacated by Sharon Osbourne. Osbourne left the position last August after the network cancelled her son's show.
Mel joins Howie Mandel and Howard Stern on the NBC show. Rumors abound that the producers are considering adding another judge next season but this has not been confirmed.
Brown first gained international attention as part of the all-girl British band the Spice Girls. Part of the audition process involved battling against 400 other girls for a spot in the band, so Mel knows a little something about competition.
Melanie Brown is also no stranger to judging these types of shows. She hosted the British version of "X Factor" and sat in the judge's seat for the Australian version.
"America's Got Talent" is set to return for its fifth season on NBC this summer.
