Former Spice Girl Mel B. was booed on “America’s Got Talent.” The singer, who recently signed on to be a judge, was reportedly given a hard time by the audience on her first day of taping, TMZ reported on Mar. 5.

According to the report, Melanie Brown, who goes by Mel B., was in New Orleans on Monday along with fellow judges, Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, and Heidi Klum for the start of the new season, when fans began to boo her.

Mel B. was booed by the New Orleans audience after she told a contestant that she was not a fan of brass music, which is huge in The Big Easy.

The audience immediately took offense, and began to shout things like “go home” and “no respect.” Mel reportedly became emotional and leaned over to Howie, who consoled her.
