So what got Mel B booed in the "Big Easy" recently? The new "America's Got Talent" judge found herself the recipient of an upset audience during just the first day of auditions for the show.
According to TMZ's report on March 5, Mel B got the harsh reception after deciding to "diss brass music" on the first day of taping for the show. The show was being taped in New Orleans yesterday, with the first act of the day, Lagniappe, a popular New Orleans brass band performing. However, Mel B didn't like the genre or the band.
She said she wasn't a fan of the music, which brought the New Orleans audience into a chorus of boos and jeers including "Go Home" or "No respect." The last thing someone wants to do is diss brass in one of the areas of the country it has a huge background and level of popularity. To deal with the booing, Mel B had to be comforted by fellow judge, Howie Mandel.
Mel B is joined by another new female judge on the show, model Heidi Klum, who apparently didn't have any problems during auditions. She must like brass music.
"America's Got Talent," the reality competition show features four judges with Howie Mandel and Howard Stern returning from last season. The show will return for Season 8 on May 28, 2013 on NBC. Roanoke viewers can watch it on local affiliate station WSLS 10.
