Meghan McCain Dishes Dirt About the 2008 Presidential Election - Talks Sarah Palin and Laura Bush

Meghan McCain, daughter of former Presidential candidate John McCain, has written a memoir of her time on the campaign trail with her father. The book titled "Dirty Sexy Politics" dishes some major dirt on Sarah Palin and Laura Bush.

McCain says the book shows politics through her eyes. The eyes of a "political prop," as she called herself.

In the book Meghan says her job was to "Keep a smile on my face, look admiringly at my father, and clap at the appropriate times."

However, she is giving up some juicy details about some of the most famous political families.

Meghan McCain's time with First Lady Laura Bush

Meghan claims that she and her mother were invited to a luncheon with then First Lady, Laura Bush. "For Mrs. Bush, this was one more meeting she had to take during the day," wrote McCain. Meghan details that Jenna Bush dropped by to show off her bedroom, which she described as "The size of a dorm room ... there was a creepy painting of two celestial babies -- twins -- that scared me."

As for the lunch. McCain says she wasn't apart of it. Meghan writes she left with a doggy bag after not being seated for the meal.

Meghan McCain's looks were an issue

McCain also revealed that her looks were an issue during the campaign. Advisers reportedly told Meghan that she would get to introduce her mother, if she got rid of her "stripper" blonde hair and flashy clothing. After being styled by a professional, who billed Meghan, not the campaign, she was bumped from introducing her mother.

The Palin Family

Meghan also wrote that she was confused about Sarah Palin. McCain called the Alaska Governor "the most beautiful politician I had ever seen" but "rather than joining us, and our campaign, she seemed only to begin her own."

McCain claims she was even turned away from the stylist because they were too busy prepping the Palin children. "They'll be getting more airtime," explained the stylist.

After the election

After John McCain's loss to Barack Obama, Meghan reveals that the family headed to their Arizona cabin, where they ate and slept. McCain reveals that they decided Cindy McCain should try out for 'Dancing With The Stars,' which Bristol Palin has beaten her to.

I think McCain sounds like a spoiled brat. Of course the Palins would get more attention from the stylist as they are not as polished as the McCains. Grow up life is not always about you. Give praise to the Palins for adding some spunk to what is otherwise a very boring (but qualified) candidate.

I think that M$. McCain was treated unfairly. She was the candidate's daughter and should have been treted that way. Instead she was treated like an outsider.
