In an interview with Esquire Magazine, actress Megan Fox discussed getting he tattoo of legendary Marilyn Monroe removed from her forearm. Fox stated that while she respects Monroe as an actress and icon, after reading on Monroe's life she did not want to imitation her and feared the influence on negative energy.
Marilyn Monroe was a Hollywood icon, bad had many demons in her life. Past abuses growing up and bad relationships drove her to drug abuse and her eventual death. Fox states that she has used her spirituality to avoid drugs and alcohol to stay in control of her life.
Fox drew some criticism from one statement in the article. In it she compares the problems of Marilyn Monroe to those of current actress Lindsay Lohan and her struggles with drugs and alcohol. Fox cited them as an example of talent wasted due to drugs. She later apologized on her Facebook, to clarify that she did not mean her statement as an attack on Lohan.
