"Northern California has been particularly lucky lately! We’re talking about the South Bay, and specifically Santa Clara County! Not only did Dixon Landing Chevron in Milpitas sell Wednesday's massive jackpot-winning ticket, almost two months ago to the day someone in San Jose bought the winning $324 million Mega Millions ticket that was all over the national news."

Just 12 miles from where the $425.3 million winning Powerball ticket was sold on Wednesday, Steve Tran matched all six Mega Millions winning numbers, and split half of the enormous $648 million jackpot on Dec. 17, 2013 with a Mega Millions lottery winner from Atlanta, Georgia. So in the span of two months, the California Lottery had two huge jackpots -- the second-largest jackpot of all time, and the sixth-largest jackpot of all time! What's the chance of that happening?

Not only that, but the big Powerball drawing on Wednesday, Feb. 19, had two additional high-tier California Powerball winners for $1,444,906 each. One second-tier Powerball winning ticket was sold at was sold at 7-Eleven, 2161 El Segundo Boulevard in El Segundo. The other Powerball winning ticket was purchased at Stop Save Liquor #2, 1424 Coffee Road in Modesto. Both tickets matched five white Powerball winning numbers, but missed the red Powerball number.

What Time is Tonight's Mega Millions Drawing?

The next Mega Millions drawing is scheduled for Feb. 21, 2014, at 11 p.m. EST. Friday's estimated jackpot is $172 million annuity, or $94 million cash-value before taxes. Mega Millions winning numbers are drawn Tuesday and Friday evenings at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands and cost $1 each. Add another $1 for the Megaplier option and you could instantly multiply your prize winnings!
