Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots grow for next week’s drawing

Mega Millions winning lottery numbers for Jan. 31st were announced with no jackpot winners, according to a Feb. 2 I4U News report. The 11 p.m. ET drawing yielded winning numbers 3, 9, 13, 47 and 52, with Megaball number 8, and Megeplier X4. The new jackpot amount is up to approximately US$94 million, a cash option of US$52 million for next Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing.

According to MLive.com, one Mega Millions ticket matched 5 numbers, winning $1 million. That ticket was purchased in Florida. Mega Millions tickets are sold in over 42 states in the United States, including the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Powerball winning numbers were announced on Feb. 1, with no jackpot winner. The winning numbers included 5, 12, 15, 27 and 38 with 07 being the Powerball red Power number and 2, the Power Play number. The new Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is an estimated US$215 million.

While the ultimate jackpot is still up for grabs, four states had ticket holders who matched 5 numbers, but not the Powerball. The tickets were purchased in Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and Florida. Each ticket holder won US$1 million.

The next date set for the drawing of winning Mega Millions numbers is Tuesday, Feb. 4. At 11 p.m. ET in the District of the Columbia. The next Powerball drawing is Feb. 5.
