If you need to catch up on your “Simpsons,” today might be a good day to start. FXX will air every single episode of the long running animated sitcom in a supersized marathon that starts today. Every. Single. Episode.
According to a post on Wednesday from The Washington Post, the record-shattering marathon kicks off with the Dec. 1989 pilot at 10 a.m. on Thursday, and will end with the 25th season finale on Sept. 1. 2007 "Simpsons” feature film will also be shown during the 280-hour marathon.
If you don’t have enough space on your DVR, Vulture posted a complete schedule of the marathon so you can pinpoint when your favorite must-see episodes will air, including those iconic “Treehouse of Horror “episodes.
During its 25-season run, “The Simpsons” has welcomed just about every celeb guest star imaginable. While everyone from actor Jon Hamm to lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has turned up to make cartoon cameos on the show, one famous rock star refused to join the ranks of a musical guest list that also includes Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
“The Simpsons” executive producer Al Jean told ET Online that rocker Jon Bon Jovi refused to guest star on the hit show."Maybe it's because we covered him with spaghetti," Jean said of the episode, which called for the “Livin’ On a Prayer” singer to be covered in spaghetti. Bon Jovi's father has a line of tomato sauces called Bongiovi.
FXX’s mega marathon leads up to the launch of syndicated “Simpsons” episodes that will air regularly on the network starting after Labor Day. In addition, a “Simpsons World” app will launch in October, enabling users to watch any episode of the series whenever they want. Fans will also have the ability to pull their favorite quotes and clips via the app.
“The Simpsons” marathon kicks off on Thursday, Aug, 21 at 10 a.m. ET on FXX.
