Meez Meals founder shares easy entertaining tips and easy recipe

Holiday entertaining to-do lists always tend to add up to the point of being endless. Below please find three easy holiday entertaining tips and a fun recipe from Jen Moore, founder of Chicago-based Meez Meals, a home delivery meal service that specializes in providing ready-to-cook ingredients along with inventive, healthy recipes.

1. Cook Your Fridge Clean.

If your refrigerator is like ours, it can be hard to find space for a gallon of milk, let alone all the fixings for a Christmas dinner or New Year’s party. In the week ahead of the big event, target the space hogs and come up with a plan to cook them up so they get out of your way. Our personal favorite is to make a fusion taco.

2. Use Every Inch of Space.

Think about your kitchen differently when you’re preparing for a feast. Use the dining room table to stage ingredients. Use a tub for dirty dishes so your sink stays available. Print out or photocopy your recipes and tape them to your kitchen cabinets. It frees up counter space, saves you shuffling and makes it easy for other people to jump in and help.

3. Do the Prep Work in Advance.

It’s stressful to think about making stuffing and sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce and who-knows-what-else, all within a day or two of Christmas. But how about cutting up the sweet potatoes on Sunday, dicing celery and onions on Monday, cooking cranberries on Tuesday and boiling potatoes on Wednesday? It suddenly becomes much more manageable when you think in terms of steps, not entire recipes.

About Meez Meals:

Founded in 2010, Meez Meals is leading the charge in Chicago as the premier home delivery meal service. Meez Meals has been, and continues to be, at the forefront of the meal delivery trend with more than 2,500 members and nearly 100,000 meals delivered to date. Jen Moore launched Meez Meals after seeing a market need: time-starved Chicagoans who love the idea of cooking but feel dinnertime is just too much work. The company's early, and ongoing, success is based on a recognition that people are happier and healthier when they sit down to a home-cooked meal. By offering new meal options on a weekly basis, perfectly proportioned and prepped ingredients, and easy to follow instructions, Meez Meals is more than just a great meal; it's also the full experience of cooking and enjoying extraordinarily delicious and inventive meals every week. Meals average $8 to $12.50 per serving, and there is no commitment through membership.
