Meetup.com: One website all Vancouver vegans should join

A while ago someone asked me how a vegan who is new to Vancouver is suppose to find out about local events. The answer is Meetup the largest website for meeting new people in local groups all around the world. If one lives in Vancouver and is vegan this site is a must to join. Here are a few different groups you may find useful.

Vancouver Meatless Meetup
This group has monthly potlucks, dine-outs at restaurants, veggie drinks nights, and even attend cooking classes. Events take place in the Kitsilano, Downtown and Commercial Drive areas, with the odd one outside of city limits.

Vancouver Raw Food Potluck
This is th most active vegan group in Vancouver, with two to three events happening each week. They host: classes on nutrition and raw vegan food preparation, talks by famous raw vegan foodies and potlucks. Most events take place in either the Kerrisdale, Kitsilano or Commercial Drive areas of Vancouver.

Vegan Chaotic Cooking!
This is the newest group on Meetup as it started at the end of March. So far there has only been one monthly meeting, though this could change as the group gains popularity. They are all about those that love to cook vegan food and can follow a recipe (though that is not a requirement).

This group is chaotic because the potlucks run a lot different then the norm. Each person brings the ingredients needed for their dish and then prepares it at the host's place making their kitchen very busy. The next chaotic event is hosted by the Vancouver Vegan Examiner and will happen on May 22. Unfortunately the event is already full.
