Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Brightmoor Community Center on Detroit’s Westside, the United Way made one of many stops this summer to provide healthy meals to kids now out of school for summer break. This is project is called “Meet up and Eat up” and is being done in partnership with Michigan No Kid Hungry. The event had music provided by “Open Mic Jam” orchestrator DJ L Boog, who you can follow on twitter @BoogsWorld. Hot 107.5 made their presence known with giveaways and games with the attendees. The kids were treated to free photos at the Metro PCS booth, a reading corner with books provided. There were pedal cart races promoting good health and a slew of other fun, health driven activities. Before the event concluded they provided take home juices for the parents. These events will be taking place all over the city of Detroit.
