We are Franca and Verdiana, mother and daughter, we live in Italy and we created Oggetti Smarriti ( "lost items" ) by chance, when Franca "reassembled" some old wool and beads to make a scarf for her sister. From that day on, we began to create accessories from recycled and old materials for the people we love and now...here we are!

Franca and Verdiana are owners of oggettismarriti shop on Etsy (Oggetti Smarriti (made in toscana)) , be sure to visit them there to see all the other handmade item that they have available.

Do you have a day job?
Franca spent several years in graphic design, commercial art and interior craft design and now she’s teaching art and crafting to children in a daycare centre. Verdiana does some part time jobs to support her studies in foreign languages at Florence University and dreams to fly to Japan.

In your opinion what is the most important factor to running a successful on-line shop or business?
PROMOTION! That is absolutely fundamental, the web is so full of on-line business and it’s hard be noticed, so promote yourself as much as you can! Anyway, the best way to promote your activity is to be honest and correct with your costumers, fair shop policies and kindness in communication will get you a lot of positive promotion.

What do you like the most about your crafting?
Our biggest satisfaction is to see people wearing our creations and appreciating them. We like to make people happy!

Do you have any pets? What are they?
We have two cats, Holly Golightly and Teo the Fatty, they are always with us while we’re crafting.

Be sure to take a look at the slide show of some beautiful items these gals have put together.  Love the green scarf!

Nice article about two talented artisans trying to make it in such a commercial world. Your "promoting" did well for them as I visited their Etsy store and found their goods to be charming and artsy.
