Meet True Blood's first sexy werewolf

We all heard Sam declare to Sookie in Season 1 of True Blood that, to paraphrase, werewolves are nasty vicious creatures, the likes of which he would never want to be associated with. However, if all werewolves look like sexy werewolf Alcide Herveaux, perhaps Sam's just feeling bit intimidated by the feral bad boys? Not only is Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) going to have a grand time exploring her physical curiosity with Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) in Season 3, but she is going to be kept company by actor Joe Manganiello while her undead lover, the vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) is away!

According to an interview Alan Ball gave E! Online earlier this year it is not automatically revealed that Sookie will be hooking up with the werewolf. Ball did mentioned the character is already in love with a "very bad woman named Debbie Pelt".  However, according to the casting description, "This good-looking, rough-looking, but articulate and basically decent man is not what he seems. He is a heroic type and he and Sookie get along really well, and it's possible there's even an attraction between the two." Looks like Sookie is going to be well entertained with insanely hot supernatural bad boys while Bill is M.I.A.

Manganiello's previous cinematic resume includes stints as the character "Owen" on One Tree Hill and "Brad" on HIMYM. He has also appeared on the long running series Medium. If history repeats itself, True Blood's fame will most definitely allow Manganiello the opportunity to branch out in the future as many of the other actors involved in the series have done.

The third season of True Blood debuts in the summer of 2010.
