Tigerlily, also known as Lily is the lead vocalist as well as background vocals, trombone and guitar for her boy band of the same name. Her band consists of Jay Tullio on backup vocals, guitar and mandolin. Tullio has a great time on stage and draws the audience into the song. He's been playing guitar since he was twelve and is well respected by his peers. Aside from playing, Tullio also runs a guitar repair service called Jay's Guitar Garage and is an avid collector of guitars. In former band projects he has opened for such bands as White Lion, Dorro, Kixx and LA Guns.

You may know Kevin Figg on drums from the popular Boston band Extreme. Figg has been a professional drummer since the age of seventeen and has studied with jazz drummer Bob Gullotti of the band The Fringe and Mike Mangini, whom collectively exposed him to many different approaches to drumming. His professional experience as a drummer has taken him to sharing the stage with artists like, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek (The Doors 40th Anniversary at the Whiskey A GoGo 2006), Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Slash (Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver), Perry Farrell (Janes Addiction, Porno for Pyros, Satellite Party), Tony Kanal (No Doubt), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave), Dug Pinnick (Kings X), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme, Dramagods), Gary Cherone, Pat Badger, and More!

These performances led to national television appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, Residency on Last Call with Carson Daly and “The Late Late Show” with Craig Ferguson. Last year he performed at the Boston Stong Concert at TD Garden with Extreme who are touring this year in Asia, Europe and the UK in June-July 2014. Figg is a current member of Adrian Raso & Fanfare Ciocarlia "Devil's Tale" (currently debuting at #1 world music charts Europe Feb 2014), Theory 13 and Extreme.

On bass guitar is Jon Paul-Royer who also contributes on lead and background vocals. Aside from playing a bass guitar, Royer is also known as D.J. Luv Puddlz, for spinning tunes in betwen the Tigerlily sets. His expertise on sound and trouble-shooting, his connection with the audience, and on the bands breaks are truly a huge part to the bands success. Former band projects include: Boa, King of the Rats, and an opening act for such bands as Cinderella, Quiet Riot and Dokken.

Examiner sat down with Lily to find out more about her background and her band.

Examiner: How did the band come together as Tigerlily?

Lily: "I moved back to my hometown of Mendon after living out west in Seattle, Washington for four years. I was jamming with some local musicians who handed me a cassette saying that it was his former band project. They only gave me the musicians name, Jay Tullio, so pre internet, I rifled through the phone book calling every Jay Tullio until I found him. Tullio had been the guitarist of a popular Boston band called Boa with Jon Paul- Royer on bass. The three of us put together Tigerlily and then brought Kevin Figg in on drums. Once he goes back out on the road with Extreme, we will bring in another drumer to fill in for Figg.

I'm closer to these guys than I've ever been with my by blood brothers. I'm a very very lucky lady. Royer, Tullio and I have it working like a machine. All of us have separate jobs to keep the machine oiled and we all work very hard to keep the audience and the club owners happy. Twenty plus years together proves the love is there!"

Examiner: Tell me about your background, I understand that you worked in theater?

Lily: "I studied dance and voice with Maestro David Kyle, a student of Authur Feidler. He was the teacher for such performers as Geoff Tate of the band Queensryche and Ann Wilson of Heart.

I performed in the Boson Rock Opera Producion of the Rocky Horror Show as Magenta and also their production of Night at the Opera where I had featured numbers. I signed on as Titzak for Broadway in Boston's production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and performed in New York with Steven Trask for the HEDWIG CD release party."

Examiner: Did I also hear that you are a founding cast member in several Boston productions?

Lily: " Yes I am a founding member of the “Gold Dust Orphan Theater Company," in Boston. We performed the musical, "Rosemary's Baby," and "Joan of Arkansas" with several other shows in Boston and Provincetown."

Examiner: Your upcoming dates?

Lily: "This month we have the Chicken Bone, Liz's Diamond, Fusion, Jade Dragon, Speakers and a few others. You can find more info on our band website at:

Examiner: I understand that you are a big Charlie Farren fan?

Lily: "From the first time I heard Farren, that was it for me. He's the best!"
