Neat and oh-so-petite, in fact so teeny, you can probably find space for it in a large backpack--the Urb-e electric vehicle is quite possibly "the world's most compact vehicle."
The urbanites' answer to the ultimate put-put, the Urb-e is a foldable three-wheeled aluminum contraption. If you're a commuter, the Urb-e can comfortably fit between your legs while you sit on a bus, train or car. You don't have to lock up the light weight scoot outside if you enter a building because you can roll it in with you. The Urb-e has cool LED lights and there is even a luggage rack in the rear for a bag or briefcase.
The Urb-e runs on a 20-mile range lithium battery and the electric hub motor can hit speeds of up to 15 miles per hour. As far as juicing it up, Urban Mobility, the creators of the Urb-e are working on developing easy-to-access charging stations at such places as campuses, urban hubs and bike sharing locations. The company, who developed the color customizable scoot-around to help ease the overcrowding urban transportation problems , are also working on smaller single charging stations.
Will the Urb-e catch on? Time will tell. Check out the video.
