John Hughes-style teen romance combines with "Nightmare on Elm Street"-type slasher to bring the 1980s back to Jacksonville in local director Sam Farmer's "Girl of My Dreams," which premieres at Sun-Ray Cinema tomorrow. Christopher James Forrest (Trey Andrews). Christopher is an actor, director, and voice-over artist with experience in film, television, and radio. Raised in Jacksonville, FL, he currently resides in North Hollywood, CA, where he works as an actor. His work includes leading and supporting roles in numerous independent films as well as principle roles in TV and radio commercials, including over 200 voice-overs. Besides starring in “Girl of My Dreams,” Christopher has supporting role in the feature film “Eye of the Hurricane,” which also arrives in theaters this year. Christopher has a deep love and passion for filmmaking which he has shared through film reviews that have aired on NPR for the last 2 years. He is very proud to be a part of the talented cast and crew of “Girl of My Dreams.”
Tyler C. Patton (Jon Dale). Having appeared in plays at various venues in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, "Girl of My Dreams" is Tyler's first full-length film credit. He also appeared in "Goreography: The Making of Death Harmony" and "Chiaroscuro, Baby."
Rachel Hunt (Regina Walsh). Rachel is a theater arts major at Stetson University where she will be returning in the spring to complete her final semester of undergraduate studies. Prior to this her practical experience lay in acting, set and costume construction, and directing in theater. She is very excited to be acting in her first film.
Amy Crews (Molly McCarthy). Amy is an actor that has trained and worked in the Jacksonville market for the past 4 years. As of January 2013, Amy has moved on to work in the Los Angeles market and pushed herself even deeper into the acting world. She loves a challenge while filming, and getting past the '80s high waisted pants she had to wear frequently in "Girl of My Dreams" certainly suited the bill! The friendship and free flow of ideas between actors, producers and director on this film was her favorite thing about the shooting process. Amy has been able to check out a few scenes and is excited to see the entire finished product!
Keri Compton (Brittany Alexa). Keri has been studying acting for several years. She graduated from Dennis O'Neill's school of acting in Texas in 2001, where she studied theatre, film and voice. She has worked on feature length films and short films, including "Chiaroscuro, Baby" "Goreography: The Making of Death Harmony," "The Afflicted," and "Astraeus." She also worked on "Walker, Texas Ranger," as well as HBO's "Recount," starring Kevin Spacey. She is attending FSCJ while working as a bartender and plans to move to California to further her acting career.
Casey King Leslie (Ken Anders). This 21-year-old actor, born in Pittsburgh, PA, attended St. Olaf College, where he excelled in football and drama. His handsome features and natural confidence on the stage helped him land lead roles in various performances in his high school and throughout the community. In "Girl of My Dreams," he plays the popular jock student who harasses the lead Trey Andrews. While filming this movie, Casey was also given a prominent role in "2 Headed Shark Attack," the story of a group of survivors that escape to a deserted atoll after a Semester at Sea ship is sunk by a mutated two-headed shark. In this movie, Casey worked alongside the likes of Carmen Electra, Charlie O'Connell, Brooke Hogan, Gerald Webb, and Geoff Ward. He is currently living in Los Angeles.
Anne-Marie Boyles (Carrie Baker-Preston). Anne-Marie is a 25 year old banker raised here in Jacksonville. Carrie Preston is her first movie role and she was thrilled with the opportunity and the experience - especially the going blonde part!
Mark Poppleton (Detective Sam Hughes). Prior to "Girl of My Dreams," Mark appeared in "Chiaroscuro, Baby" as Arthur Prophet. Mark has also acted in numerous productions at theaters like the Alhambra here in Jacksonville, the Bristol Valley Theater in Naples, NY, and the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Auburn, NY. Kenny Logsdon (Harry Andrews). Kenny spent years performing at the Little Colonel Playhouse in Pewee Valley, KY. After graduating from the University of Louisville, he moved to Jacksonville and got into theatre with First Coast Theatre Arts and Theatre Jacksonville. He's been lead in "God's Man in Texas," "Maltese Bodkin" and played Rev. Jeremiah Brown in "Inherit the Wind." He is represented by First Coast Talent Agency and does industrial training videos, emcee events, films, and commercials. Kenny has appeared as lead actor in three award winning films - "My Imaginary Girlfriend" (2007) and "Chorophobia" (2008), both 48-Hour Film Projects Best Picture runners-up and "Sketchy" (2009), which won Audience Choice and Kenny Best Actor. His most famous role so far was as an absentee ballot military lawyer in HBO’s award winning movie "Recount."
Karen Overstreet (Carol Andrews). Karen has been acting her whole life both on stage and in film. She is Meisner trained and teaches acting at The Performers Academy. A few of her stage roles include Bananas in "House of Blue Leaves," Elizabeth in "The Crucible" and Charlotte in "Night of the Iguana." She will appear as Edith in the North American premiere of "Conversations After A Buriel" opening next weekend at Players By the Sea in Jacksonville Beach. Her film appearances include "Burden of Regret," "365 Decision Time," "VEER!" and the soon to be released "Causality" and "Solo." Karen holds a Master’s Degree in Biology and has a real-life role as a molecular biologist - no kidding! She loves science, Formula 1 Car racing and is a classic film junkie.
