Meet the Breadettes, at Pier 6's beer taste party

Love banana bread? Love beer? How about the lovechild of the two? Tomorrow/Friday, May 2, Pier 6 in Charlestown welcomes The Breadettes, a "sassy, young 1950s style trio" from the UK who sing and dance. At this free 21+ event, the ladies will be educating guests about the new Well’s Banana Bread Beer, and offering freshly baked banana bread. "The fresh, crisp brew combines the flavor of traditional ale with subtle notes of banana and aromas of grass and lemon," says the PR. The Breadettes are touring the East Coast, welcoming photos and offering fun giveaways.

If you'd like another kind of dessert to go with this beer, Pier 6 offers Banana pudding with candied walnuts; Rhubarb Shortcake with mascarpone mousse and toasted coconut; and Cheesecake Brownie with coffee anglaise and whipped cream. They have a nice raw bar, too. Pier 6's Executive Chef Greg Reeves also offers fresh seafood dishes and waterfront dining on Pier 6 in Charlestown by the Navy Yard and USS Constitution. If it's still nice out, head for the patio for some al fresco time.
