Meet Simon Cowell's sexy fiancée, makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy

British music executive Simon Cowell has confirmed that he is engaged to marry makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy.

ON-SET ENCOUNTER

Simon, 50, met Mezhgan, 36, several years ago on the set of American Idol, where he's a judge and she's the head makeup artist.

The gorgeous, slim, 5'5" Hussainy was born in Afghanistan in 1973 but fled with her Muslim parents in 1979 and settled in Hollywood, where her father had family.

In her teens, Mezhgan tried unsuccessfully to become a model and actress and eventually became a cosmetic salesperson at an L.A. department store. 

SIMON ONCE VOWED HE'D NEVER MARRY

With no formal training, Hussainy got her first big break when she was hired to be the makeup artist for tv game show host and actor John O'Hurley.

Eventually, she got hired to do makeup on American Idol, and by the show's third season, she became lead makeup artist.

Cowell has been a judge on the hit reality show since 2002, but announced he will step down at the end of 2010.

In September 2011, Simon plans to launch an American version of the hit British talent show X Factor (which he produces and serves as a judge).

A notorious bachelor who once stated he would never marry, Cowell popped the question to Mezhgan on Valentine's Day after dating for several months. The couple reportedly became romantically involved last spring.

"[Simon] is the happiest I have ever seen him in the nine years I've been working with him," says his publicist Max Clifford.

Cowell previously dated ex-model and tv host Terri Seymour from 2002-2008, while Hussainy is divorced from her first husband, whom she wed at age 20.

BLOGGERS TEASED SIMON ABOUT HIS 'MOOBS'

Cowell, who now works out daily to stay fit, began exercising regularly in 2007 after seeing unflattering pictures of himself, shirtless on vacation.

Teased by bloggers for his man-b--bs ("moobs"), Simon began working out daily at home and in his office.

"I do 100 press-ups before I get in the bath in the morning, then at work after a meeting, I’ll shut the door and do more," he told the Daily Mail in 2007.

'EVERYONE ON TV IS VAIN'

"I am vain, but I cannot think of one person on TV who is not," Cowell has said. "It is the nature of the beast."

Of his beauty regime, Simon says: "I have had Botox but not in an obsessive way. I just like to take care of myself."

He adds: "I am eating a lot better and have cut out the chocolate biscuits and crisps. I work out, take lots of vitamins and think I look good for my age."

Cowell says he loves his fiancee because she makes him look good. "[Mezhgan] is the best at what she does. She makes me look very handsome," he says.
