Meet Simba, senior Rottweiler in need in California

Certain photos tend to capture the utter hopelessness experienced by shelter animals more than others.

Rottweiler in need of help

The photo of Simba, an 8-year-old Rottweiler who is housed at the East Valley Animal Care and Control Center in Van Nuys, Calif. is one such photo.

The image shows Simba's vulnerability, as well as her hope for help.

The photo also captures Simba's worry, confusion and desperation.

Simba has been at this facility since November 25, and as of yet, nobody has stepped forward to offer this gorgeous senior a home.

The odds are stacked against Simba. Her age works against her, as does her coloring and her breed.

Potential adopters often steer clear of "power breeds," and the ever-present "black dog syndrome" continues to plague shelter dogs.

Please take a moment to help Simba leave this facility alive. Networking raises awareness and Simba could use your assistance.
