The famous Rescue Ink team will be participating at the Super Pet Expo in Edison this weekend, February 10-12. Here is your chance to meet members of Rescue Ink from New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia in booth 519. You can also buy some cool Rescue Ink T-shirts while you are at it.
Rescue Ink is one of the most interesting and unique rescue groups in the area. This group of motorcycle riders, ranging from ex-firefighters to bodybuilders, all came together for a common cause. Each member has a personal story to tell on how they arrived here.
From their humble beginnings in New York State, Rescue Ink chapters are now springing up all over the country and world, with the most recent chapters launching in Utah, Switzerland, Kentucky, Arkansas and New Jersey.
“We go where we are needed,” said Joe Panz, one of the founding members of Rescue Ink. “Rescue Ink has zero tolerance when it comes to animal abuse. We will stop at nothing within the bounds of the law to save animals from desperate situations.”
Rescue Ink has a list of rescue success stories noted on their website ranging from horses, dogs, cats and chickens. They have rescued fighting dogs and investigated stolen animals. They have and will confront animal abusers with their zero tolerance policy.
Rescue Ink member Alley Cat made an appearance in Belle Mead, New Jersey last October 16 to help C.A.P.I.C. Cats celebrate “National Feral Cat Day” at their “Feral Cat Fun Day Fair” staged at Belle Mead Animal Hospital.
Most recently, the New York and New Jersey members of Rescue Ink collected donations on behalf of the Sayreville Pet Adoption Center, a no-kill shelter who is in danger of closing due to losing their last municipal contract effective January 1, 2012. Rescue Ink members learned of this unfortunate circumstance and took action. They got in touch with the SPAC director to determine what was needed. They reached out to other members and supporters, and they collected supplies including pet food, cat litter, cleaning supplies, blankets, toys, and sweatshirts for the staff and volunteers.
You can still watch episodes of the Rescue Ink series aired on National Geographic online to get a better understanding what this group has accomplished.
