Cinémas Palme D'Or in Palm Desert presents a special screening of the film "Argo," with a live Q&A session with the film's screenwriter Chris Terrio, tonight, Feb 20 at 7 p.m. Chris Terrio just won the WGA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, which gives him an 80% chance of winning an Oscar this Sunday. The Q&A with Mr. Terrior will follow the screening of "Argo" and will be hosted by Cinémas Palme D'Or host and co-owner Steve Mason.
This screening is for adults, ages 21 and older, wine and imported beer will be served during screening.
"Argo," is a dramatization of the 1980 joint CIA-Canadian secret operation to extract six fugitive American diplomatic personnel out of revolutionary Iran.
"Argo" was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including:
- Best Motion Picture of the Year
- Best Achievement in Editing
- Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role to Alan Arkin
- Best Achievement in Sound Editing
- Best Achievement in Sound Mixing
- Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published
- Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Score
"Argo" is rated R for language and some violent images and has a run-time of 2 hours.
