Cinémas Palme D'Or in Palm Desert presents an exclusive screening of the nine-time Oscar nominated film "12 Years a Slave" with a live Q&A session with the film's screenwriter John Ridley ("Three Kings"). The Q&A will take place this Sunday afternoon, Feb. 9 after the 2:30 p.m. screening. The Q&A with Mr. Ridley will be hosted by ESPN & KTTV personality Steve Mason.

"12 Years a Slave," is the true story set in pre-civil war America and tells the tale of a free African-American man that is drugged, kidnapped and sold into slavery in Louisiana. The film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael K. Williams, Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt.

"12 Years a Slave" is rated R for violence/cruelty, some nudity and brief sexuality and has a run-time of two hour and 14 minutes.

Cinemas Palme D'or is located at the Westfield Shopping Plaza at 72840 Highway 111, Palm Desert, CA.
