Vengevine and Cast Through Time are the two latest mythic rares to be revealed from the upcoming Magic: the Gathering expansion Rise of the Eldrazi.
Vengevine - 2GG
Creature - Elemental (Mythic Rare)
Haste
Whenever you cast a spell, if it's the second creature spell you cast this turn, you may return Vengvine from your graveyard to the battlefield.
4/3
Rise of the Eldrazi's Vengevine will clearly see some playtesting in Standard due to its inherent card advantage. It is in older formats that Vengevine can proove to be alot more powerful.
In Legacy Vengevine can ideally attack on turn one and almost always reliably swing on turn two. Magic: the Gathering players who were around during the Odyssey block will recall Blue Green Madness decks. A turn one Careful Study discarding Vengevine and Basking Rootwalla followed by a Vine Dryad or a zero costed creature such as Ornithopter will allow Vengevine to attack on the first turn. A turn two Vengevine is more likely, be it from casting a Wild Mongrel and one of the above madness, pitch, or zero costed creatures. Be sure to include Rancor!
Adding Bazaar of Baghdad would make for a fun yet not so serious Vintage deck. Other obvious inclusions would be Riftstone Portal, Squee, Goblin Nabob, and Solitary Confinement.

Cast Through Time - 4UUU
Enchantment (Mythic Rare)
Instant and sorcery spells you control have rebound. (Exile the spell as it resolves if you cast it from your hand. At the beginning of your next upkeep, you may cast that card from exile without paying its mana cost.)
Cast Through Time may cost a lot, however its affect on the game is equally large. But is Rise of the Eldrazi's Cast Through Time worth it? Just two sets ago in Zendikar we were treated to Pyromancer Ascension, which became a popular card in conjunction with Time Warp and cheep burn spells as this Magic: the Gathering player predicted the day of its announcement.
While Pyromancer Ascension costs far less than Cast Through Time, Cast Through Time is active from the get go. There are also ways to get Cast Through Time into play without paying its mana cost, such as using an Academy Rector or Show and Tell in Legacy. Cast Through Time may warrant a slot in some Magic: the Gathering player's Type 4 or Elder Dragon Highlander decks.
Rise of the Eldrazi prerelease events are a few weeks away. Until then, Magic: the Gathering players in Massachusetts can continue drafting Worldwake and participating in Constructed events at TJ's Collectibles, located on 160 Main St in Milford, Massachusetts 01757 phone# (508) 473-5874, or at any of the other Places to Play Magic around Boston.
