Meet local authors at Souther KY Book Fest

Perhaps you are working on an idea for a book, or always said “I want to write a book” and would enjoy meeting published authors. Here is your chance! The Southern Kentucky Book Fest Regional Authors Showcase will be held this Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. If you love to read, love to or want to write, and love books, this event is for you.

The mission of the Southern Kentucky Book Fest (SOKY) is to encourage reading and the love of books and be a positive force in promoting literacy. At the Regional Authors Showcase there will be over 30 authors signing their books and discussing writing and reading from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on September 6.

There is a Regional Authors Showcase Writer’s Workshop scheduled for Friday September 5, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There are two sessions: “Why Editing Matters” by Jennie L. Brown and “Creating an Author/Illustrator Media Kit” by Mark W. Adams. You must register to attend this event. To register and for more information, click here.

According to the website, “the Southern Kentucky Book Fest is one of the state’s largest literary events … draws thousands of readers of all ages who welcome the occasion to meet their favorite authors and purchase signed copies of their books. The Southern Kentucky Book Fest partnership consists of Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Warren County Public Library, and WKU Libraries.”

The special events also include the Kentucky Writers Conference (April 17, 2015), Children’s Day (April 17, 2015), and SOKY Book Fest (April 18, 2015). For more information on these events, click here.
