Meet Foxy - The Pit Bull Terrier Mix 'code red' Pet Pardons Pet of the Day

Brooklyn, New York - The Pet Pardons organization released an urgent bulletin Thursday asking the public for their help in finding a home for Foxy a 14-year-old female Pit Bull Terrier senior who was abandoned by her owner due to failing health and will be put down at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center unless saved.

Foxy is literally on her last legs, and at the golden age of 14 her owners decided it was time to get rid of her and place her in a kill shelter instead of letting her live out her last remaining weeks and months with the family she has always know and loved.  Foxy sits nearly motionless every day on a cold concrete floor, so depressed and so afraid that she cannot use her legs.  She has lost all will to live and is simply waiting to die so that she can be free of the hell she is living in right now.

Volunteers at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center who haveworked with Foxy have made the following plea in order to help her find some peace and love during her final time alive.
HOW CAN ANYONE LOOK AT THE TERRIFIED AND CONFUSED LOOK ON THIS POOR LITTLE SENIOR GIRL'S FACE AND SAY THAT SHE DOESN'T HAVE A RIGHT TO LIVE THE END OF HER DAYS IN A HOME ENVIROMENT BEING LOVED AND SPOILED INSTEAD OF HER FINAL MEMORIES BEING OF LAYING ON A COLD CONCRETE FLOOR IN A CAGE UNTIL FINALLY BEING DRAGGED TO A COLD DARK ROOM TO HAVE THE FINAL INJUSTICE BE DONE TO HER AND BE KILLED BY UNCARING HANDS?

I AM MAKING A SPECIAL PLEA FOR THIS ANGEL.  IF THERE IS SOMEONE THAT IS STRONG ENOUGH AND CAN OPEN THEIR HEART AND HOME TO THIS ANGEL TO GIVE HER A COMFORTABLE PLACE TO REST HER HEAD IN HER FINAL DAYS, PLEASE SAVE HER BEFORE SHE IS KILLED.

AFTER BEING ABANONED AFTER GIVING HER LAST HUMAN ALL OF HER LOVE AND LOYALTY FOR THE LAST 14 YEARS OF HER LIFE SHE MORE THAN DESERVES THAT AT LEAST.  SHE IS NH RESCUE ONLY, BUT CAN STILL BE ADOPTED BY GOING THROUGH ONE OF THE RESCUES WHO ARE APPROVED TO PULL DOGS FROM THE NYACC SHELTERS.

The following rescues can be contacted in order to pull Foxy.

Members of the Pet Pardons community are given daily Facebook bulletins and updates, allowing them to share the stories of pets in need or even take direct action to adopt or donate money to save the life of the pet. The reasons for how these animals end up in shelters are as numerous as the reasons why there are so many dedicated volunteers working hard every day to save innocent lives.

The Pet Pardons Facebook application has been responsible for the successful adoption of over 9,000 pets since its launch in December of 2010 and has amassed over 340,000 followers on Facebook who are ready to help advocate for an animal in need at a moment's notice.

Pet Pardons allows its members to help pets by clicking the "Advocate" button on each pet’s profile, which places the pet’s bulletin on the user’s wall, allowing others to see the pet and advocate for it. As the number of shares increases, so do the chances of the pet being viewed by someone who can help or adopt.

It takes a special kind of person to step forward and care for a senior dog like Foxy who doesn't have long walks, kisses and barks to express her love.  A dog like Foxy can only afford a little thump of the tail or long look into your eyes to say the two simple words she is saving for the family or person who saves her:  "Thank You."

Pet Pardons educates the public about pet overpopulation, focusing on the importance of adoption and spay/neuter. By shining a light on the reality for shelter pets, people are becoming aware of the problem, and therefore, getting involved in the solution. As each amazing pet is featured, users are able to see their faces, connect with their stories, and advocate to save their lives.

Pet and animal advocacy can sometimes be a very emotional process.  Volunteers place animals into the Pet Pardons application in hopes that they will be adopted into loving homes, not so that the shelters will be targeted and harassed.  Please help the pets by not engaging in this type of behavior, as it hurts them far more than it helps them.

Foxy currently has 783 advocates on the Pet Pardons application, and could use a lot more, especially those who would be willing to supply transportation to a new forever home if needed.
