I've been a Star Wars fan since the very first movie (yes, I know I'm old), and I'm thrilled that Disney bought the franchise and is making a new set of movies. Now that they own Star Wars, I have to confess I'm disappointed that we're seeing an Avatar land before we see something from the galaxy far, far away.
However, Disney did make a great addition this year, in the form of two Star Wars-themed character meals that run in conjunction with Star Wars Weekends. However, the meals take place every day of the week through June 15. To see the cute themed food, jump to this article. It's very tasty, but of course the big draw is the characters.
Rather than doing the Jedi Mickey dinner, I opted for the breakfast at Sci-Fi because it features Darth Vader. Who doesn't love dining in his dark, foreboding presence? He's there with Boba Fett to greet you as you enter. A special Photopass card is included with the breakfast price, and you're welcome to use your own camera, too.
Once you get inside, you'll encounter other Star Wars characters, like Storm Troopers, Jawas, and Greedo. Click the slideshow accompanying this article to see everyone you'll meet.
Even though I enjoy Star Wars Weekends, I hate the crowds and lines. The breakfast was the perfect way to get a bit of the Star Wars experience and some great photos in a much more relaxed atmosphere.
I also enjoyed the entertainment on the big drive-in screen. Jump to this article to read more about it, including a very hard-to-find classic (well, it used to be in the days before YouTube).
