The autumn months are traditionally the time when publishers put forth their best books of the year, and this year is no excpetion for cookbooks. In Atlanta, Chef Kevin Gillespie's "Fire in My Belly" releases on October 16, the first of his two cookbooks with publisher Andrews McMeel.
Gillespie's book will be celebrated at a release party on October 9, then he goes on book tour. He will be back in Atlanta in November signing his new book at events throughout the city, including a Nov. 10 event at the Atlanta History Center.
Food Network's Hungry Girl, Lisa Lillien, will be in Atlanta signing copies of "Hungry Girl to the The Max! The Ultimate Guilt-Free Cookbook." Lillien's recipes emphasize maing long-term lifestyle changes for permanent weight loss. She will be the guest at a lunch, Q&A and signing event at the Marcus JCC of Atlanta on Nov. 14 beginning at 12 p.m. For tickets, visit www.atlantajcc.org/bookfestival. Lillien will also sign her new book at Barnes & Noble Buckhead at 7 p.m.
On Nov. 17, Carla Hall, Top Chef alumna and member of ABC's "The Chew" crew, will sign copies of "Cooking with Love: Comfort Food that Hugs You." Recipes include Southern favorites such as Down-Home Deviled Eggs with Smoky Bacon and personal family recipes like Granny’s Five-Flavor Pound Cake.
