Thousands gathered on the national mall in Washington DC to make their voices heard on the 39th Anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade.
Mississippi's 4th Congressional Representative, Steven Palazzo took the opportunity to mark this anniversary several ways:
- Addressing pro-life activists at the Concerned Women for America’s “Celebrate Life, Embrace Grace” event
- Speaking out on the House floor
- Greeting more than 150 South Mississippi youth that traveled with the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi to take part in the annual March for Life
Thousands more Americans gathered around their televisions looking for a report on the State of the Union from President Obama. Unfortunately, much of the rhetoric we heard last Tuesday just doesn’t match up to reality or the president’s record:
- $15.2 trillion in debt
- Unemployment over 8 percent for three years
- More than a 1,000 days since a budget.
Divisive talk, campaigning against Congress and empty rhetoric are the last things we need when people are hurting and hungry for true leadership.
This administration is planning to make dangerous defense cuts and Palazzo joined with House Armed Services Republicans in calling on the president to embrace a solution that would save $127 billion in taxpayer dollars without putting our men and women in uniform out of work.
