Cinémas Palme D'Or in Palm Desert presents a special screening of the film "How to Survive a Plague," with a live Q&A session with the director David France on Tuesday, Feb 5 at 5 p.m.
"How to Survive a Plague" is the story of two coalitions -- ACT UP and TAG (Treatment Action Group) -- whose activism and innovation turned AIDS from a death sentence into a manageable condition.
This remarkable documentary was also a Grand Jury Prize nominee at Sundance, and it's an Independent Spirit Awards nominee for Best Documentary Feature. Now the film is competing for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
The 85th Annual Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 24 and will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. The night will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane live on ABC and will be televised in more than 225 countries worldwide.
The film is not rated and has a run-time of 2 hours.
