Meersault: Nantucket’s wine bar

See also

Meersault is a lovely new wine bar at 18 Broad St, just down the hill from Dune and in the lower level of the Graficas gallery. It opens each day at 4 pm and is open well into the evening. Judging by the attendance, it is already quite popular with customers of all kinds. The menu features about 30 red and 30 white wines, with a handful of each available by the glass.

They also have an extensive cheese menu of nearly 20 cheeses available on plates at 4 for $21 or 8 for $40. Yesterday’s menu featured 5 goat, 4 sheep, 5 cow and 5 blue cheeses. They also offer 3 kinds of pate, two kinds of sausage, 4 kinds of olives and 3 nuts and sweets: the marcona almonds are superb. Bread is provided with the sausage and the cheeses.

Meersault is the brainchild of the proprietors of Dupree and Company wine and cheese store a 7 Old South Wharf and has been in the planning stages for some months. Your could go for a light bite, some serious wine tasting or use a visit as an appetizer before going on to dinner.

We found the staff friendly and helpful and enjoyed the wine bar experience tremendously. We’ll certainly be back, and expect you will be too.
