Silencing the thoughts is a thought
Then the thoughts say nobody is noticing and they keep trying to be heard. When your mind is untrained and has not been in practice for long you notice every little thought that comes to your mind. You let your thoughts rule you instead of the other way around.
The awareness of a thought is not being in the moment
If you want to visualize your dreams do it before meditation, your mind is not quiet when you are visualizing, it is busy focusing intent and creating.
You can meditate anywhere
Preferably sitting instead of lying down because you are more likely to fall asleep. Not that your consciousness and body can’t go onto meditate without you, but the idea is to bring awareness and if you are not trained to be aware in your sleep your meditation may go by unnoticed. You soul is aware but you are not, it is not in alignment.
If you fall asleep it may be what your body needs to be refreshed. The subtle relaxation may also feel as if you are sleeping in the beginning of practice when you are not used to providing calm space for yourself throughout your day.
