Meditate? Why?

See also

Meditation is known universally for what some would call a 'restoration of the mind'. Apparently, meditation can promote the following health benefits:

  • More effiicient oxygen use by the body
  • Improved immune function
  • Decreased anxiety, depression, and insomnia
  • Reduced production of 'stress hormones' including cortisol and adrenaline
  • Lowered cholesterol levels
  • Decreased blood pressure and hypertension
  • Increased production of the anti-aging hormone DHEA

Deemed the 'birthplace of happiness' on Deepak Chopra's website (www.chopra.com) it appears as though meditation can quite frankly change your life for the better. The problem is that many people don't know exactly how to meditate. The good news is that there are a variety of outlets to learn from. You can learn a thing or two from Youtube videos to searching online for your very own guru. Mediation is worth learning.
