The museum is a non-profit organization featuring exhibits on all eras of rail travel. The trains are from 1 to 3 p.m., leaving from the museum grounds at 530 West Avenue in Medina, Orleans County, followed by a farmer's market at the museum from 3 to 5 p.m.
The highlight of the winery trains is a two-hour ride through the vineyards, orchards, and countryside of Western New York. Each train features two wineries from the Niagara Wine Trail offering tastings of a variety of wines on board. The Trail, which includes 18 wineries, extends from Niagara County into Orleans and Monroe counties.
The farmer's market after each run will feature a variety of local restaurants and other vendors. Businesses scheduled to participate include LynOaken Farms, Robert’s Farm Market, Yancy's Fancy Cheeses, Barker Chocolate, The Bread Basket, Apple Blossom Florist, and The English Rose Tea Shoppe. The participating wineries also will be selling bottles of their wines. The farmer's market is free and open to the public.
The Medina Railroad Museum, housed in a 1905 freight depot, provides educational exhibits on the history of rail travel from the steam era to the present. It also features one of the largest HO-scale model train layouts in the country.
