Colorado ring girl Aislynn Medina said on Jan. 29 in an exclusive interview with Long Island MMA Examiner Eric Holden that she needs a little fan support to land a highly-coveted ring girl position for an upcoming MMA event at the Thunderdome.
"All friends in Colorado, this Thursday my sister and I are auditioning for a ring girl position slated for Feb. 9," Medina said. "The audition will be at the Spill bar-down town 14th n market. We need as many friends, strangers, what ever to come support us. If you are coming to support us, you will be let in along with your friends. You have to be really loud, the louder you are the more chance we have of getting in."Aislynn and her sister Renee are both in the running for one of the final spots as a ring girl on the Thunderdome MMA show, which is slated for Feb. 9.
"It's every Thursday at Spill Lounge starting this Thursday at 7 p.m.," Colorado ring girl Jessica Boisseaux said of the ring girl contest. "The winner will receive the chance to be a ring girl at the Thunderdome for their MMA card on Feb. 9."
The Spill Lounge, located at 1410 Market Street in Denver, Colorado, hosted the qualifying round on Jan. 17. The semi-finals were held Jan. 24, and the final round is set for Jan. 31.
The event is being presented by INK'D Out and Sparta Combat League.
Sparta Combat League's explosive Feb. 9 card is expected to be a well-attended affair, so the winning ring girl will receive unprecedented exposure and the chance to add the experience to her portfolio.
The Feb. 9 event, which is slated for 1144 Broadway in Denver, Colorado, will feature some of the brightest up-and-coming MMA stars in the country, including Marcus "Bad Intentions" Edwards, Vinnie "The Assault" Lopez, Darla "Train Wreck" Harris and Pete "The American Nightmare" Baker.
The winning ring girl will have the opportunity to work alongside Boisseaux, Colorado's 2011 Ring Girl of the Year.
"I want to work with people that want to have fun at the fights," Boisseaux said. "Girls that are actually interested in MMA and fighting, not just there for the money and the fame."
If you like hot babes in bikinis, come out on Jan. 31 to show some support for the Medina sisters in their quest for ring girl glory.
