The 11th annual Medieval Arts Festival is coming to the George W. Hawkes Central Library in Arlington Texas, and for the 2nd year in a row, yours truly has been cordially invited to present an exhibit. (read about last years festival here and here)
This event will be loads of fun, for free, for kids and adults of all ages to come by and get some very interesting information that you may not have had before, as well as some games, activities for the kids, and more.
I will have a booth set up with armor, a few weapons, some prizes, and a unique way of explaining the medieval ages that is safe for kids, and interesting to all ages. Last year, to my surprise, I entertained a group of people for hours ranging in ages from 6, to college age, to their parents. I have learned from this experience on ow to make it even more fun and exciting for everyone, and have learned much, much more medieval knowledge as well, including starting to train in the sport of jousting.
The SCA (or Society for Creative Anachronism) will be on hand as well giving demonstrations on things such as crafting and even some live medieval combat reenacting.
It will be held at the George W Hawkes Central Library located at 101 E Abrams St Arlington TX 76010 on October 26 from 12 pm to 5 pm.
I hope to see you there!
