The mass hysteria is quite alarming. Many have grouped into this mob mentality over Obamacare and know little about it. Obamacare is a method to help people according to their existing means. Now, the people fighting it and pushing for a government shutdown on the other hand can cause a lot of problems if social security checks and such start being delayed because of their latest plots failure. What we need is less opinions and more facts on Obamacare, because it has become more than a little confusing.
It is a fact that if you are on Medicare or Medicaid you are considered covered, and there is nothing you will have to do. Children, even adult children, already covered under their parents plans are also good to go.
Some of the programs features may however change, for example, a set amount of prescriptions may be covered even for children and the like. If you need more than lets say, 5 prescriptions every month the 6th may not be covered. This can lead to issues with people who really need medications like cancer patients. That is one of the big pitfalls I have found thus far, but this wont be the same in every state. On the other hand children and adults with preexisting conditions can now get health insurance.
Middle class people will be able to afford insurance, and the more you make the more you may have to pay for it to make up for those who cant afford to pay as much. It looks like wealthy people are going to be forced to help their less fortunate brothers and sisters one way or the other.
People have to start registering online on October 1st. If you have insurance through your employer, you are covered and nothing will change. If you have insurance you like you can keep it, but since many Americans will qualify for a rebate on their deductible then it don't hurt to go compare the programs. If you can afford insurance and do not get it you will be fined yearly.
