Medical helicopter crashes at nursing home

An EagleMed helicopter crashed between a nursing home and a retirement center. According to a report by KWTV Channel 9 News in Oklahoma City on Feb. 22, the medical helicopter went down about 5:30 this morning in Oklahoma City.

Two of the three people on board were killed. The one survivor was rushed to a local hospital. Nurses from the St. Ann's Nursing Home ran out to help the crew of the medical helicopter.

One person was on the ground was hurt trying to help the helicopter's crew. It is unknown who that person is or their condition. No one in the nursing home or the retirement center was hurt.

“It is a miracle the helicopter didn't crash on the nursing home,” Clyde Williams, from Warr Acres, said. “The pilot must have worked hard to avoid those buildings.”

Traffic on Britton Road, between the Northwest Expressway and Rockwell was shut down for a while, but is now open. Police, emergency personnel and FAA investigators, at the time of publication were still on the scene.
